WHAT IS SIMReF??

The Feminist criticism to positivist science has revolutionised the way in which the processes of knowledge production are defined. From the denunciation of the numerous sexist biases of scientific research, to the in-depth criticism of the universality of the Western positivist science, the proposals coming from the feminist epistemologists have been many and varied, at times, opposing. Such feminist epistemological concerns have led in the last 20 years, especially among the Anglo-Saxon academicians, to a rigorous process of methodology re-definition (both in the collection and the analysis of data).

However, although it is undeniable the impact of feminism in a variety of disciplines and the emergency of feminist epistemology studies, so is the criticisms against them, and the lack of consolidation of such paradigm in our disciplinary fields. With this experience we want to, on the one hand, interrogate the potentialities and limits of feminist researches as to represent a new paradigm for the analysis of reality in different disciplines. On the other one, we hope we will be able to formalise a training area on feminist methodologies at the forefront of the international debate, and to improve the autochthonous feminist research.
